Hi there! My name is Allison Snow, and I’m originally from Newfoundland! I recently moved to Yellowknife after the wild fire evacuation and I’m so happy to be here, especially to be apart of the Weledeh Catholic School community and to experience the city of Yellowknife within it. So far I’ve met a lot of amazing teachers, fellow classroom assistants, and most importantly the children and parents of Weledeh. I have worked with children for the last 3 years and am in the process of completing Early Childhood Education Level 2! I look forward to my career at Weledeh Catholic School as a Classroom Assistant, to do my part in helping the children to thrive to the best of their individual abilities!

My name is Amatul Batin Noor. This is my second year in Yellowknife as well as my second year working at Weledeh. So far, I have had an amazing experience working at this school with our lovely staff and students. I really enjoy speaking to our students and listening to their wonderful stories. I am also excited to be living in Yellowknife as it is a very unique experience especially watching the Northern Lights!

Originally from Eastern Canada, I have been out west since 2004. Recently I moved with my husband, Eric to Yellowknife. I have a Bachelor of Science from Carleton University and a career in Medical Laboratory Technology. My passion is reading, writing and communing with nature. I have two grown sons who make me proud everyday. I am very excited to be at Weledeh and look forward to the year ahead.

My name is Erika Henry, I am from Quebec, I studied special education. I have been here in Yellowknife for 3 years with my partner and my two children. I worked for 2 years at the Allain St-Cyr school. It is my pleasure to work for Weledeh!!

Hi everyone! My name is Heather Makaro. I have lived in Yellowknife for 22 years now and living it. Camping,ice fishing and spending time with family and friends are just a few things I enjoy. Hi my name is Jennifer and this is my second year in Yellowknife as well as working at Weledeh. I love working here with such a supportive staff, connecting with the kids, and watching them grow. I also graduated from the University of Ottawa with an honors in Psychology. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family. Living in Yellowknife has been a unique experience, especially getting to see the stunning Northern Lights!

Justin Uson

Hi, My name is Justin Uson and it's my first year as a Classroom Assistant with Weledeh! I am excited to be here with everyone, especially with all of the students. I graduated from Mount Royal University with a degree in Physical Literacy and so I am passionate about sports and physical activity. I love dancing, cooking and making people smile so if you see me around, come say hi! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us.

Hi, my name is Leroy Viaji, and I’m thrilled to officially join the Weledeh Catholic School family. I’m looking forward to supporting the teaching staff at Weledeh in any way I can. In helping students grow and develop into confident individuals ready to take on the world. I hold a postgraduate degree in communications theory and have a passion for sports, which I enjoy in my free time.

Hi, my name is Louise Debogorski. I have been working full time at Weledeh since Dec 14th of 2018. My husband and I have lived in Yellowknife for over 40 years and have raised our 11 children here. All our children have attended schools in our district of YCS. After our two youngest children were in high school. I started substitute teaching at Weledeh and St. Joes and really enjoyed it. Although I do not have formal training as a teacher I felt my life experiences with my own children would be an asset and it certainly has been. I feel like I have joined a large family at Weledeh. The students and teachers are a joy to work with. My grandchildren love telling their friends that their Gramma works at the school. A lot of the teachers seem like old friends as I got to know them when my own children were in school. I look forward to the new school year!

Hello, I am a Classroom Assistant/Speech Language Pathology Assistant here at Weledeh. Previous experience includes working for both the Stanton Territorial Health Authority (STHA) here in Yellowknife and the Beaufort-Delta Health & Social Services Authority (BDHSSA) in Inuvik, NT as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. I have been with YCS for fourteen years now. I have always worked with younger children, achieving my Early Childhood Education Diploma very early in my career and I love to work with children, who are my daily inspiration! I have been married for 43 years to my high school Sweetheart and we have three awesome kids; Mackenzie, Kimberly and Thomas, all who are married with children. Martin and I are darn proud of them! We are thrilled to be grandparents to our four grandsons; Kolby, Kieran, Leo, Caden and our adorable granddaughter Emily. Personal interests include our “zoo” at home where we enjoy our 2 dogs, 1 parrot and 2 snakes! I enjoy learning new things, gardening, baking, walking outside, chasing the Aurora Borealis and creating on my computer!

I was born in Germany 1966 moved to Canada , Winnipeg In 1991. Worked from 1992 to 2011 at Air Canada as Flight Attendant. From 2011 to 2019 Mountain and Hiking Guide Moved to Yellowknife in 2019 . Worked as flight Attendant for Summit Air until 2021 Then as store manager at Ild Town Glassworks during this time I experienced my first time working as a substitute and fell in love to work with children and helping out in their development What I love the most : Nature our rich cultural environment and learning

I am a single parent, 42 years old, and an immigrant. I have lived in Alberta since I came to Canada in 2008. Last Thursday, September 14, 2023, I arrived in Yellowknife for the first time. Started working in Weledeh last Monday, September 18. I am loving it here; so quick to get to everything!

Hi there! My name is Sarah. My husband and I moved to Yellowknife a little over two years ago with our three cats and our senior dog. We've since added a Northern Special to our little zoo, too! We love making Yellowknife our home and enjoy spending time hiking, camping and exploring. I'm excited to be joining the Weledeh Team this year. I've spent the past 15 years working and volunteering with children of all ages. I cannot wait to explore with all our students.

My name is Sacha Kelly and I started working at Weledeh in September 2020. I have lived in the north full time for over 10 years, but am originally from central Newfoundland! My passion is helping students and creating a safe space at school for all of our learners. My family and I are building our life in Yellowknife and we could not be more proud of our community at school and home!

Hi! My name is Shaqira Pye and I was born and raised in Yellowknife. I started my role as a classroom assistant this year and I absolutely love it. I have a passion for being creative, helping people and finding fun and colourful ways to express myself. Hi my name is Anne Sherina "Shey" Torres. We are new in Canada last 2019 and decided to move here in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in 2021. My family loved the community and the people are amazing! I have two daughters who is studying here in Weledeh Catholic School. I started working at the daycare here in Yellowknife for a year and a half because I really enjoy working with kids. This is my first year here in Weledeh, and looking forward to work with each and everyone!
