So far, I have had an amazing experience working at this school with our lovely staff and students. I really enjoy speaking to our students and listening to their wonderful stories. Hi everyone! My name is Heather Makaro. I have lived in Yellowknife for 22 years now and living it. Camping,ice fishing and spending time with family and friends are just a few things I enjoy. Hi my name is Jennifer and this is my second year in Yellowknife as well as working at Weledeh. I love working here with such a supportive staff, connecting with the kids, and watching them grow. I also graduated from the University of Ottawa with an honors in Psychology. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family. Living in Yellowknife has been a unique experience, especially getting to see the stunning Northern Lights!

My favorite quote is, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" by Laozi. I have two kids, an almost 22-year-old son and a 20-year-old daughter. I am a single parent, 42 years old, and an immigrant. I have lived in Alberta since I came to Canada in 2008. Last Thursday, September 14, 2023, I arrived in Yellowknife for the first time. Started working in Weledeh last Monday, September 18. I am loving it here; so quick to get to everything!

My name is Sacha Kelly and I started working at Weledeh in September 2020. I have lived in the north full time for over 10 years, but am originally from central Newfoundland! My passion is helping students and creating a safe space at school for all of our learners. My family and I are building our life in Yellowknife and we could not be more proud of our community at school and home!

Hi my name is Anne Sherina "Shey" Torres. We are new in Canada last 2019 and decided to move here in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in 2021. My family loved the community and the people are amazing! I have two daughters who is studying here in Weledeh Catholic School. I started working at the daycare here in Yellowknife for a year and a half because I really enjoy working with kids. This is my first year here in Weledeh, and looking forward to work with each and everyone!
