POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT
Positive Behaviour Support, also known as PBS, is a school-wide behaviour initiative to encourage and assit students to live and learn Christian values. Students are taught expectations based on respect for self, others and property. The program focuses on preventing inappropriate student behaviour by reinforcing positive behaviour and positively reminding students of what the expectations look like. Our school mascot, Lupi, encourages students to live what they are learning and to do good by example. Students earn "Lupi's" for doing what is right. In May of each year we celebrate with a grand PBS day! At the end of each value we celebrate student success with an assembly and awards recognizing students from each division.

A whole-school celebration took place today to celebrate our student's success in being respectful bucket fillers. Ms Gessler was recognized for her contribution to the PBS program. A few years ago it was Ms Gessler who introduced Positive Behaviour Support to Weledeh and over the years it has flourished, as have our students because of it. Enough Lupi's were earned from the start of the school year to have Lupi and his friend Chip do the Chicken Dance. They were joined by grade 3 Statchook and Ms Gessler!
Gerda, from the fire hall joined us today and spoke about Fire Safety Week, reminding students to do their home escape plans and drop them off at the fire hall during their open house on Saturday.
